Our Team

Emily Gittings (she/her)

Co-Founder / VEO / RTH

Emily was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. Emily first began learning about networking and marketing whilst managing her local garage band in high school. Emily continued her musical career in Nashville, TN where she became more focused on neuroscience research.

During her time in Nashville, Emily was a research assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Neurology. When she finished in Nashville, she began a BS.c. in psychology with a minor in neuroscience at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. During her time at McGill, she assisted in research at McGill University and at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.

Emily graduated from McGill in 2021 and moved to Richmond, VA to pursue a career in mental health. Since moving she has worked in the substance use disorder field. She is pursuing a part-time Masters of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University.

While working in the mental health field, Emily has learned communication and relationship building skills that are key to
success in any field, including marketing.

Emily has been studying website design, search engine optimization, and ad campaigns since the beginning of 2023 and has found that her extensive research
experience working with professionals at four different
universities allows her a unique and insightful view of digital marketing.

Emily believes that small businesses are vital to community success and is looking to help small businesses remain and grow on the map.

Benjamin Peters (he/him)

Co-Founder / VEO / RTH

Benjamin is a dual citizen of a US military family and was born and grew up in Suffolk, England. He started his professional career in the restaurant industry at the age of 15. Starting as a dishwasher, he gradually moved up and participated in every job in the industry ending in restaurant/bar management. Whilst working Benjamin put most of his efforts into Field Hockey being a player at age 12, umpire at age 15 and then coach at age 17.

After moving to the USA at age 19 he concentrated on officiating and quickly moved up the NCAA ranks and gained his International Badge at age 22. During his ongoing career he has achieved the status of FIH International Umpire (High Performance Panel) which is reserved for the top 50 in the world. During his career he has officiated 65 International Matches and counting at events such as Pan American Games (x2) which is an Olympic Qualifier, Pan American Cup a World Cup Qualifier, FIH World League Series Finals, and two Nations Cup's which is the Pro-League Qualifier, 2023 Junior (U21) World Cup in Malaysia & Pro League Season 5 Argentina. As well as officiating in the England, USA & Australian professional leagues.

Concurrent of his officiating duties Benjamin started his coaching career back in England. After he moved to the states he was hired by Pittsburgh Venom FHC as the first assistant coach for both founding members of the club. After climbing the ranks to Head Coach in 2013 and then Club Director in 2015. Benjamin then took sole ownership of the youth organization with 35 athlete members across 4 teams and no notable honors in 2017.

Since then he has grown the club into one of the premier youth field hockey establishments in the nation, with 5 National Indoor Championships, many regular season tournament wins and a member growth to over 150+ over 15 teams from ages 8-19 years old.

Building his own business with the help of family to a nationally recognized brand in Field Hockey he now looks to help other small business owners build their brand to succeed together.
